Cambridge, Mass., offensive lineman Jay Kenney found out just how hard it can be to get recruited at the highest levels when you’re from New England, so he’s going to take a prep year to try and get proper exposure.

Jay Kenney, a 6-foot-6, 310-pound offensive tackle from Matignon High School in Cambridge, Mass., has finished his senior season and after some thought, he has decided that he will spend a year in prep school to get some more exposure.

“Right now I’m looking at Canterbury, Worcester Academy, Bridgton Academy, Cheshire and Andover,” Kenney stated. “The schools recruiting me are pretty much who was recruiting me before. I just want to prep a year because I think I could’ve done much better in recruiting if my name was put out there better.”

Kenney had been in contact with Boston College, Connecticut, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan and UTEP over the past several months.
