South Recruiting Manager
Posted Dec 19, 2009

VENICE, Fla. - Scout has spent the last few days on the west coast of Florida and one of the top prospects we visited was 2012 lineman Omari Phillips. He has major offers already and talks about them here.

Trey Burton is the top prospect out of Venice in 2010, his younger brother Clay Burton is that guy in 2011, and Omari Phillips will be the hot recruit in the 2012 class.

Phillips is a 6-foot-5, 270 pound two-way lineman that has picked up offer from Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida International, Purdue, South Florida, and Toledo.

He talks about those offers, his play on the field, his plans for the recruiting process, and more in this exclusive interview with Scout. Watch the interview here...

This interview was shot before the offers from Florida and Purdue.

Chad Simmons is the Recruiting Manager for the South Region and he can be reached at
