Iowa Lands Michigan Wideout
Just before he left Iowa today, Kevonte Martin-Manley was given some good news. "They offered today," he said. "I came up to visit." The 6'0, 198-lb wide receiver from Birmingham Brother Rice (Mich.) was previously committed to Bowling Green, but his weekend with the Hawkeyes made him realize Iowa was the place for him. "Oh man, the people around here are great people. They have a great coaching staff. I see great opportunity for me to succeed and have the Big Ten experience." Martin-Manley's 4.58 speed (electronic timed at a Scout combine) allowed him to excel as both a wide receiver and return man. He says the Hawkeyes have not yet talked to him about return duties, but they have laid out a plan for him at wide receiver. "They have some older guys that will be there next year and I learn from them and by my sophomore, if not freshman year, I should be in the mix." As a senior, Martin-Manley had 43 catches for 745 yards and 10 touchdowns.
