The Barton Football Academy is back, training Northwest area youth, high school and college athletes. Taylor Barton brings his unique skills based training back for its 15th year in the Northwest. This year there will be over 100 winter training sessions between Washington and Oregon at the University of Washington, Juanita High School, Portland Community College and Oregon State University.

Spring dates have also already been confirmed at the University of Oregon, in addition to the winter sites.

Any coach will tell you that repetition is the key to success on the field. The Barton Football Academy revolves around this theme and the belief that once proper form, footwork, and movement become second nature, success is sure to follow. To reinforce the importance of repetition and support the training needs of the Northwest athlete, the Barton Football Academy offers winter and spring training sessions every weekend from January to April (and throughout the Spring and Summer) across Washington and Oregon. New in 2010 will also be SAQ (Speed, Agility, Quickness) training available for athletes in any sport or any grade. Chalk Talk is also back in 2010 and will be expanding to help train all of our athletes around the importance of being intelligent on and off the field as well as athletic.

To help support the schedules and budgets of area families, athletes can sign up for one training session, multiple training sessions or the entire season. Walk-ups are also welcome.

Go to: www.bartontraining.com to learn more about our programs, offers and to register for camps.

New in 2010 are position specific training for Running Backs and Linebackers, to go along with Quarterbacks, Wide Receivers, Tight Ends and Defensive Backs. Many of the sessions have been extended by 30-60 minutes each to help area athletes truly maximize their time in the camps, while prices have been kept at or very close to 2009 rates. Dynamic warm-ups and SAQ-style training will also be a part of every camp at every level, varsity and youth. A separate SAQ training program is being developed as well, with more details to be released in early 2010.

Washington Football Training: The Barton Football Academy will be at the University of Washington (Seattle, Wash.), Juanita High School (Kirkland, Wash.) and Kings High School (Seattle, Wash.), with winter and spring workouts starting on January 9th and going all the way into April. Workouts at the University of Washington will be held in the Dempsey Indoor Practice Facility, located next to Husky Stadium. The UW camp will offer a varsity-level Quarterback-Skill Camp and a Lineman Camp for players in 5th grade through college, as well as a rookie-level QB & Skills camp for athletes in grades K-4.

Juanita High School in Kirkland, Wash. has opened their massive field house to the Academy this year. Varsity QB & Skill Position and Lineman camps for players in 5th grade through college will be offered, as well as a Rookie QB-Skill Camp for K through 4th grade. The first day of workouts is Sunday, January 10, 2010.

Information regarding the workouts scheduled for Kings High School will be finalized soon. You can check on the site (www.bartontraining.com) for more information. Details should be up in the next week or so.

Oregon Football Training: For the first time, the Barton Football Academy will be training at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore. The OSU camps will offer both a varsity-level QB & Skills Camp as well as a Lineman Camp for athletes in grades 5th and above. The first session of the season kicks off at OSU on January 2, 2010. Workouts will be held in the Truax Indoor Practice Facility, located on the Oregon State University campus next to Reser Stadium. They will run from 6pm - 9pm.

The Academy will return to Portland Community College (Sylvania campus) for their sixth season. For the first time ever the Bartons will also have a Chalk Talk for every player in the QB-Skill Position Camp. This camp, along with the Lineman Camp, is for 5th grade through college. The Rookie Quarterbacks and Skills Camp for athletes in grades K-4 will be held following the Varsity QB and Skills Camp. The PCC camps kick off on January 10, 2010.
