UA Wednesday Top 10
Under Armour Top 10 Kadron Boone – Wide Receiver – 6-1/197 - Ocala (FL) – Team White Analysis: Boone had an excellent day on the practice field. He is not a speed guy, but he is a physical receiver that knows how to get open. He showed very consistent hands, he is a competitor, and he really stepped his game up to another level today. He was one of the top three receivers on day one.Recruiting: Committed to Texas Tech, but will look around with Leach out. Williams Gholston – Defensive End – 6-7/250 - Detroit (MI) - Team White Analysis: Gholston was arguably the best looking kid in pads today. He not only looked the part, but he played the part as well. He is so athletic that he actually dropped back and worked some at outside linebacker. He is a lean 250 pounds with great quickness and athleticism with a lot of room still to grow.Recruiting: Committed to Michigan State. Alfy Hill – Defensive End – 6-4/240 - Shallotte (N.C.) – Team Black Analysis: Hill started out very strong and blazed through the drills showing great explosion off the ball. He showed great quickness and he ran through a couple of linemen as well. He still needs to add strength and play with a little more energy at times, but he is athletic end with a lot of upside.Recruiting: Committed to Alabama. Justin Hunter – Wide Receiver – 6-4/172 - Virginia Beach (VA) - Team White Analysis: Hunter had an outstanding day one on the practice field. Everyone knew about his size and length, but he showed better separation speed and much better agility than expected. He really has some shake when he has the ball in the open field and he really was not slowed down on Wednesday.Recruiting: Committed to LSU. James Hurst – Offensive Tackle – 6-5/285 - Plainfield (IN) - Team White Analysis: Hurst was the most consistent and most dominant offensive tackle on either team today. He was stronger run blocking than he was in pass protection, but he handled top rush ends in team drills much of the day. He has great balance and he is very technically sound.Recruiting: Committed to North Carolina. Christian Jones – Linebacker – 6-4/215 - Oviedo (FL) - Team White Analysis: Jones is an athletic linebacker that has really blossomed in 2009. He is a rangy backer with great speed and lateral movement. He was all over the field crashing down against the run and was very fluid when he dropped back into coverage. Jones has risen up to be one of the top prospects in Florida over the past few months.Recruiting: Many consider FSU the frontrunner here, but Alabama, Miami, Notre Dame, and Tennessee are some of the others still in it. Demarcus Milliner – Cornerback – 6-0/185 - Millbrook (AL) - Team Black Analysis: Milliner was confident out on the island at corner and rightfully so. He is a very smooth corner he has the body most see at free safety. He can still improve his back peddle, but he showed very good recovery speed, nice press coverage, and he got his hands in on a couple of passes. He showed why he is rated high on Scout on day one.Recruiting: Committed to Alabama. Da'Rick Rogers – Wide Receiver – 6-3/207 - Calhoun (GA) - Team White Analysis: Rogers was what was expected today – he made plays against some of the top corners in the country, but had occasional drops on balls he should have brought in. He ran past every corner that tried to press him at the line and created five yards of separation most reps. He just needs to concentrate play after play and this playmaker could be a top 10 kid in the country.Recruiting: Committed to Georgia. George Uko – Defensive Tackle – 6-4/299 - Chino (CA) - Team White Analysis: Uko showed up Tuesday night in Trojan gear and looked the part and he carried that look over to the field on Wednesday. He is very strong at the point of attack and played with good leverage for much of the practice. He did stand up a little quickly a few times, but when he plays low, he drives the offensive lineman into the backfield.Recruiting: Committed to USC. Adrian White – Cornerback – 5-11/175 - DeSoto (TX) - Team Black Analysis: White is one of the top corners in this game. He is a corner that changes direction well, keeps his speed, and runs with the top receivers step for step. He really showed good knowledge of the position today from technique to reading the receiver to making plays on the ball. He did not pick a pass off, but he did break up a number of balls that went his way.Recruiting: Committed to Texas. Others Under Consideration: Louis Nix, Demar Dorsey, Chaz Green, John Fulton, Ian Silberman, and Kenny Shaw.
