It was a big day in the life of Misouri City (Texas) Marshall standout Toney Hurd. On the same day that he's playing in the Under Armour All America Game, he also announced his college destination. He'll be an Aggie.
"I am committing to Texas AM."
Hurd, 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds, announced for the Aggies over Notre Dame. He was actually once committed to the Irish before de-commiting recently. Those are the only two schools in which he took official visits to this recruiting process. He's spent the past several days in Orlando preparing for the game today.
"He’s a little raw, but he’s a football player and I’d take him on my team any day," said Scout.com's Jeff Baumhower on Thursday. "He did improve as the day went on, so I expect him to continue that trend as the week progresses. If the Aggies are his choice come Saturday, the folks in College Station will be getting a good one."
Hurd claims a 3.5 GPA and a 1460 three-part SAT score.
