Damiere Byrd is certainly the fastest player in the state of New Jersey and may be one of the fastest in the entire country at that. Right now the Erial, N.J., native has written offers from Rutgers, Duke, South Carolina and Maryland and recently got a full copy of his junior highlights.

Timber Creek High School is home of one of the most explosive players in the Northeast Region in wide receiver/return man Damiere Byrd and the 5-foot-9, 162-pound athlete is already holding offers from Duke, Maryland, Rutgers and South Carolina to show for his efforts. If you watch below you can certainly see his outstanding speed, but the scary thing about it is that he only needs to run at about 75-percent to blow people away at his level, which is obvious on his film.

As a junior, Byrd caught 38 passes for 605 yards and two touchdowns. He also carried the ball 78 times for 685 yards and eight more scores, adding a punt return touchdown for good measure. He was named first-team All-Conference and Group III and second-team All South-Jersey.

Byrd was the state champion in the 55-meter for New Jersey as a junior with a time of 6.39 seconds.
