Hursey Recruitment is Wide Open Again
Don Hursey continued to hear from schools throughout the last few months despite many knowing that North Carolina was his clear and distant favorite. That continued communication with schools has proved to be more important than Hursey originally thought because he no longer sees a scenario where he ends up at North Carolina now. There are plenty of interested suitors and Hursey plans to make the most of the next month. "At this point I have to look at other opportunities," said Hursey. "I have not really talked to the UNC coaches and they have not shown me much love. Vanderbilt also has all their defensive back openings filled so I don't see myself there either. I am disappointed with UNC. I really liked it there and wanted to be a part of that program but I have a lot of other schools interested and I will find a great school to play at." Hursey has been in contact with several schools over the last couple months and has also heard from some new schools recently as well. "I still talk with West Virginia, North Carolina State, Virginia and Kent State. They have just received my senior film so I am waiting to hear back about what they think. I am just going to stay positive." Hursey does not have a new leader and will take his time before he does. "I don't want to talk about a leader right now. I like all the schools I mentioned and obviously how they feel about me will go a long way in feeling comfortable with them and getting one at the top of my list." Right now Hursey has no scheduled visits but that will change very quickly. "I didn't have any specific plans because I thought UNC would be the place for me but now that has changed and so will my January schedule. I am willing to visit any school that feels I can help them and wants me there."
