Christian Green, Tampa (Fla.) Catholic, has had a good week at the USAAAB in San Antonio, working as a wide receiver. Green had a great senior season at quarterback, but is enjoying the transition to a new position.
"It's definitely been a transition, but it gets better every day," Green admitted. "I'm having a lot of fun, and I'm finding out where I stand as a wide receiver, going against all these great defensive backs. I think I've done well, because I think the position comes naturally to me. I know what defenses are trying to do to me, and having played quarterback has helped me on that end."
Green has narrowed his recruiting choices to three, and is looking to make his decision by the end of January.
"I'm down to three schools right now," Green stated. "I'm looking at Florida, Georgia and Florida State right now. I visited Georgia earlier and I have two visits left to go. I'm heading up to Florida next weekend, and then I go to Florida State on January 29th."
Green discussed his feelings for all three of his final choices, and gave an indication of when he will make his choice public.
"All three of these schools are winning programs, with great tradition," he said. "Georgia is a school I feel comfortable with, and I think it's a place I could do well on the field, and in the classroom. Florida is going through some stuff right now, and that's why I'm looking forward to the visit. I need to find out where the coaches stand and who's going to be there. Florida State is kind of in the same situation, but it seems like they have stability now. They're starting to get the coaches they want, and they're recruiting some great players. I feel they're definitely headed in the right direction."
"I'm hoping to make my decision after my final visit to Florida State," Green reported. I'm not sure how I'll do it, and I might make the announcement at my school, but I'm not really sure right now. Right now, I'm just trying to enjoy my time here and just take it all in. I feel blessed to be in this game and appreciate the honor of being selected."
