Thompson Takes In All Things Bulldog
Carlos Thompson profile Carlos was asleep on the way home to Hollandale, Mississippi, so his father handled the questions. "Fletcher Cox was his host," said Carlos Sr. "Fletcher and Bumphis both hosted him." The visit had plenty to do for both the players and their families. "They had a lot going on," said Coach Thompson. "They had a lot of activites for everyone. They had some things for the parents and some things for all of us together with the kids. We had a real good time. We enjoyed the visit." The weekend excursion allowed the Thompsons the chance to get to speak with the Bulldogs new defensive coaches Manny Diaz and Chris Wilson. "I felt that both of the new coaches were impressive," said Coach Thompson. "The guy from Oklahoma (Chris Wilson) is very impressive. He has coached defensive line for the past five years at Oklahoma. I know he and the new coordinator are very excited about being there. I don't know them, but I was impressed with them. They appear to be good people and good coaches." The Thompsons will get the chance to become better acquainted with the duo as the in home visits resume this week. Carlos will soon announce his college decision. He will take an official visit to Ole Miss before doing so. "We are going to visit Ole Miss and see how things are there," said Thompson. "After we get back from there we want to make an announcement a day or two later. "We don't want to drag this thing out. These Universities need to know what they need to do for these other kids that are trying to get a scholarship." Contrary to some popular internet rumors, the Thompsons have not finalized their college plans. "No, we have not made a decision," said Coach Thompson. "Once we go over to Ole Miss we are going to get home and sit down as a family and talk about things. We'll make a decision then."
