New Staff Sells Bizzarro

When Akron dismissed head coach J.D. Brookhart from his duties as the Zips head man in charge, then commitment Mike Bizzarro was uncertain of his future. Bizzarro took his official visit over the weekend and now his future isn't in doubt.

Erie (Pa.) McDowell wide receiver Mike Bizzarro had everything figured out when he pledged his services to Akron after ran impressive camp showing. Then of course that all changed when Akron fired then head coach J.D. Brookhart and hired Notre Dame assistant Rob Ianello.

Bizzarro wasn't sure if he would fit in to the new staff's plans or if Akron would fit into his. He found the answers he was looking for on his official visit.

"Yes, I am sticking with my commitment for sure," Bizzarro said. "The coaches that they brought in are unbelievable. They are all great guys and they want to turn the program around. I'm down with that. There's a lot of excitement for the football team there again, so I'm pretty pumped."
