Scout.com recently talked with 2010 prospect Don Hursey from H.D. Woodson High School in Washington…
Hursey Not Giving Up
Don Hursey has experienced the ups and downs of recruiting. After waiting to receive his first offer and adding to it a small time later Hursey has since seen those offers go by the side. Now he has been committed to getting his film out to schools and receive an offer he feels he deserves. "It has been hard," said Hursey. "So many people ask why I don't have more offers but I don't know what to tell them. I just keep trying to stay positive and I know things will work out." Hursey had two offers from North Carolina and Vanderbilt but both teams have said that they already received commitments at the position. Even some team forums have had fans asking about Hursey. "I got a good reputation during combines and camps for going after the best receivers and stepping up with good performances. I really made a name for myself. Now I have to get that name out there again and find a good spot for myself." Hursey is still hearing from several schools but it is more of a wait and see what happens on signing day before they commit something to Hursey. "Virginia, Kent State and Duke said they like my film a lot but are waiting to see which recruits may commit on signing day. Then they said things will open up a bit. I hope so because I just want a chance to play and I know I can help a team win games."
