"Coach [Billy] Napier from Clemson came down on Tuesday and he watched me in weight training," said David Andrews.
"We can't really talk yet, but I have talked to him before and he likes me and my character."
Although Napier couldn't talk with the junior offensive lineman, he could observe him working out.
He had to like what he saw.
"I broke the school record in power cleans in front of him. The record was 330 pounds and I did 335 pounds."
Andrews trains under Ryan Goldin at Competitive Edge Sports along with his training at Wesleyan and he has gotten a lot stronger over the past year.
That is part of the reason schools like Clemson are taking a long look at him.
Another school recruiting the 6-foot-2, 275 pound center is Georgia. Stacy Searels made another appearance at Wesleyan on Wednesday.
"He has stopped by here a lot and I have gotten to know Coach Searels pretty well," said Andrews. "We had a good conversation the last time we talked on the phone about the Army Combine and he invited to their one day camp too. He told me to be patient with them and we will see what happens."
No offers yet for Andrews, but he is working hard to change that. He will be competing in the 2010 Scout Showcase at Competitive Edge Sports on January 31 and he hopes that just helps him earn an early offer.
