AZ Prospects' First Offers Come from Academy

News on Hamilton's Keegan Merrigan,Chaparal's Brendan Murphy and Sabino's Stephen Fraser

The academies have really hit the Grand Canyon State hard in recent years, pulling several top prospects out of Arizona. This year is no different and Scout.com has confirmed that three players have received academy offers, the first D1 offers for all three.

Tucson Sabino RB Stephen Fraser tells us that Army has offered and he will visit this weekend. He was supposed to visit Northern Colorado but that has been cancelled. Fraser (5-10 185) amassed 1,492 yards and scored 19 TDs this year.

Scottsdale Chaparral CB Brendan Murphy has informed us that Air Force has extended him an offer. Murphy has been offered and tripped to 1AA South Dakota State. He has also been offered and will trip this weekend to D2 program Truman State. Murphy (5-10 180) was a 1st team all-region selection for Chaparral, recording 50 tackles and an INT, helping them win the 5A2 state title.

Chandler Hamilton d-lineman Keegan Merrigan has received an offer from Army according to his father. Merrigan (6-3 210) recorded 57 tackles and 11 sacks while helping Hamilton win the 5A1 state title.
