"I felt that the University of Toledo was the best for me, in considering them and the other two offers (Ball State and Bowling Green) I had received," Gordon said of his choice. "I felt the coaches at Toledo really showed me that they are interested in me as a person. Assistant coach Matt Campbell was someone I really trusted, and I loved the facilities."
"I love the campus at Toledo, and I feel strongly it's the right place for me," he continued. "They are bringing in a great class, and I believe we are the top class in the MAC."
Gordon, 6-foot-1, 205-pounds, played outside linebacker at Glenville, and will assume a similar role with the Rockets.
"They are going to start me out at the "star" position, which is a combination linebacker and safety," he explained. "There is an opportunity for me to play next year, and it depends on how hard I work. I will be in the weight room over the next few months, and work on my speed, to get ready for the opportunity."
After succeeding both on the football field, and in the classroom, at Glenville, Gordon is also preparing to find success academically at Toledo.
"I want to major in sports science, or sports management," he continued. "I will probably minor in education, and I might want to coach some day down the road. My goal is to leave Toledo with my degree, and that means the most to me."
