Post of the Day (POD): high school coach "coachBt" scouts U-M-offered-LM Kevin Williams from Holland…
Williams Adds Three More Offers
Kevin Williams, Holland (OH) Springfield, is one of the top defensive tackle prospects in the Ohio class of 2011. Williams recently added three offers, to go along with his first offer from Nebraska. "My new offers are Boston College, Michigan and Bowling Green," Williams began. "That goes with my first offer from Nebraska. I'm pretty excited to receive these three offers, and I will strongly consider every one of them." He took the time to discuss his thoughts on all of his new offers, and his plans to unofficially visit each one. "Boston College is a great school, and I'm very high on them," he stated. "They were at my school a few weeks ago, and I have family in that area, and I'm very impressed with them. I will be able to get up to Massachusetts this spring to check them out." "Michigan is a really big offer to me," he continued. "They are only 45 minutes away, and my family would be able to come up and see me play. They have a great engineering school, which interests me a lot. They are one of the top schools in the country, and I will be heading up there on February 20th for a junior day. They're definitely one of my top schools." "Bowling Green is a school I've been to twice, and I like their coaching staff," he stated. "My parents are really high on this school as well, and when we were there for two games, it felt like home." There are several other schools showing interest, and there could be more offers on the way for this 6-foot-3, 270-pound lineman. "I've been hearing a lot from Ohio State, Notre Dame and Florida State," he added. "Ohio State wants me to come to camp, to earn an offer, but I will probably be committed before their camp, so that doesn't look so good. Notre Dame has been in contact, and I believe they will be offering soon. I think a lot of that program, and would love to have that offer. Florida State is showing interest, and their defensive coordinator (Mark Stoops) is friends with my head coach (Vince Marrow)." Williams, an honor student, has a good idea of when he would like to issue a commitment, and also wanted to mention he is still very high on Nebraska. "I'm still very high on Nebraska, and I will be heading out there for their spring game on April 17th," he said. "I'm just as excited about Nebraska as I was when they first offered me." "I want to get this over before summer, and I'm thinking of committing to my school in late May, possibly," Williams said. "By then, I will have visited all the schools that have offered, and I will be ready to make my selection. If any other schools decide to offer in the next few weeks, I would try to get out to see them as well, but it better happen real soon. I definitely will be committing before my senior season, and probably before summer break."
