Asian Ruff profile
"After everything went down my mom called Coach Hughes," said Ruff. "They said they still wanted me and I didn't want to go to JuCo.
"They talked to me about coming in and walking on."
After thinking about things, Asian elected to take the Bulldogs up on their offer to earn a spot on the roster.
"I always wanted to be a Bulldog," said the talented safety. "I should have committed when I had the chance. I don't know why I didn't to be honest. I just don't know."
Ruff and his mother traveled to Starkville earlier this week to meet with the coaching staff face to face.
"I went down there Wednesday and talked with Coach Mullen and Coach Hughes," said Ruff. "Coach Mullen said I still had a spot with them. He said some of the other guys they recruited for safety wanted to play on offense. He said I had a good chance to get a spot there."
Asian says if things go well for him he will be put on scholarship at a later date.
"They told me if I come in and work my tail off I could get a scholarship later," said Ruff. "That makes me want to work even harder. I am excited about getting up there and making plays."
