Macomb Dakota is one of those schools who always seems to hae a college prospect or two. Lineman Bernard Taylor might be next.
At 6'3, 280-lbs, he started every game at right tackle last season, earning 2nd team All-Conference honors. His size and strength have him projected to guard or defensive tackle in college and he may see more time on defense this year.
"We had too many seniors, so it was kind of like a seniority thing. This year, I'll be starting at defensive end and right tackle."
Taylor says most schools are recruiting him as a defensive player and he has been in contact with numerous colleges.
"Wisconsin, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Michigan, Louisville, the number goes on and on," he said. "I really want to go to Oregon, it's tough to get in touch with those guys, but that's a place where I can see myself."
Recently, Taylor went to his first junior day.
"I went to Toledo. It went pretty well. They showed us around the facilites and let us know about the program. It was pretty nice."
The Rockets have been to the school before the visit, along with a few others.
"Notre Dame was here last week and Toledo was there every week talking to me. That was it. The other schools just gave me a lot of mail and all that."
