How did you feel when you heard about your first offer and it was from Ole Miss?
Ralph David Abernathy IV-" I was off the walls. I was literally running up and down the halls screaming and I accidentally interrupted some other classes. I was very excited honestly."
What do you know about Ole Miss?
Abernathy-" I know Houston Nutt is a great offensive mind and great coach. I like they way they used Dexter McCluster as a small running back. I would love to step in and fill that void that he is leaving in that offense."
What are the Ole Miss coaches telling you?
Abernathy-" They are just telling me they are excited about the opportunity that I may end up at their school. Sometime in the next two weeks, I am going to go down and visit and meet with them more in depth."
You were very successful at our Scout Showcase combine back in January in Atlanta. How was that experience for you? ( Run back to back sub 4.4 40's)
Abernathy-" It was very rewarding to know that the hard work that I have put in was paying off. I trained very hard for that combine and it worked out for me. I think I am becoming a better football player as well by doing all this hard work."
Is there any added pressure of being Ralph David Abernathy IV and your name being known world wide? Is that added pressure or something you take in stride?
Abernathy-" It is just something I take in stride. You can't choose your family and fortunately I have been blessed to be named Ralph David Abernathy IV. It does add a little bit of pressure, but not too much. Being my family name everybody expects a little more from me than they would a normal teenager, but I have learn to deal with that. It is something that my parents have prepared me for my whole life."
