After a great junior season in which he played cornerback, wide receiver and running back, Highland Park's Raymone Taylor
is seeing his recruitment take off.
The 5'10, 180-lb Taylor was also one of the top performers at the U.S. Army Junior Combine and now has three offers to show for all of his efforts.
"I have offers from Wisconsin, Toledo and Indiana," he reported. "Wisconsin was the last one about two or three weeks ago. Indiana was first, then Toledo."
The Hoosiers were one of the first schools he was able to visit, alongside teammate Jermal Hosley.
"Jermal and I went to Indiana and then they called and offered. I like it. It's a pretty good school. I think I fit in."
Then it was a few family connections that helped Taylor out when it came to the Wisconsin Badgers.
"I sent my highlight tape, but it was kind of out of the blue. My uncle's friend works in the student department and that's how they know about me. I guess they like my tape."
While he has not been to Madison yet, Taylor says that should change soon.
"I'll probably go down there in the spring to their spring game or spring practices. I just got a letter from them yesterday telling me I can come to those."
With his versatility, Taylor could project to multiple spots in college and that is something he has discussed with each of these schools.
"Wisconsin wants me to play wide receiver. Toledo and Indiana want me to play cornerback."
Of course, there are schools that haven't offered who are still on the radar.
"Michigan, a lot of schools, LSU, UCLA, I'm just waiting for more scholarships and taking the ACT."
And one more that he and Hosley will visit together later this month.
"We are supposed to go to Notre Dame on the 20th, one day before Jermal's birthday. We just found out yesterday.
Highland Park (Mich.) cornerback Raymone Taylor currently has three offers. He also has a number of other big time schools recruiting him.
