Peach State wide receiver has picked up offer number one and it came from a school out of the ACC…
Maryland offers Georgia WR
"I have picked up an offer from Maryland," said a thankful Nile Daniel. "I have been waiting for this for a while and I got it last week." "They called my coach (Steve Devoursney) and told him that they were going to offer me and then I talked to their Offensive Coordinator (James Franklin) about it. He told me that they offered me and that they would be glad to have me." Maryland is the first school to offer Daniel, but many more like Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and USC are showing interest. He has not visited Maryland before, but he knows a little bit about them. "They usually have a good offense, I have seen them score a lot of points on T.V., and I liked the coach that I talked to. I am going to try to get up there now." The Terrapins have moved up the wide receiver's list, but they are on top just yet. "I would still say Georgia is my leader," said the Griffin (GA) native. "I have visited them, I know a lot about them, and that is a school I could see myself at right now." "Maryland would be right behind them though now with USC and Alabama." The 6-foot, 165 pound wideout is the third 2011 prospect out of Griffin High School with an offer. Safety Corey Moore is committed to Georgia and Xzavier Dickson has over a dozen scholarship offers at this time. Daniel is happy to have his first and now ready for more. "Schools thought I was only a sophomore, so that is why I didn't have offers earlier. Now that they are finding out I am a junior, I think I will get more offers." "I have been waiting for this one, but I want to get a lot more now." Chad Simmons is the Recruiting Manager for the South Region and he can be reached at ChadSimmons@Scout.com.
