Nick Boykin profile
"I am getting letters from Southern Miss, Mississippi State, Oregon, East Central and Delta State," said Boykin. "Southern Miss sent me some football tickets this past season. I went to see them play Tulane and Virginia."
The time spent on the Hattiesburg campus appears to have made a positive impression on Nick.
"I had a good time down there," said Boykin of his football weekend visits. "It's a lot different than my small town. I had a good time both times."
Sebastopol made it to the south state championship game a season ago and the play of their talented tight end was a big reason why.
"I feel like I had a pretty good year," said Nick. "We probably only threw around 200 passes all year and I had 12 catches for over 200 yards and one touchdown. I had three two point conversions."
Boykin plans to take in some summer camps this year like he has in years past in hopes of improving his stock as a player and prospect.
"I have been to camps at East Central and Mississippi State," said Nick. "I worked on a lot of things."
College options have been scarce for Boykin so far, but with a solid showing this summer and fall that is sure to change.
The personable Nick has a good idea about what he is looking for in a college home.
"I would like to stay close to home," said Boykin. "I want to major in petroleum engineering. I am pretty good with mathmatics.
"I want to play on offense for sure. I have had some college coaches tell me they want to use me in that Dallas Clark role."
