Rebs offer Memphis defensive tackle

The 6' 3", 280 pound defensive tackle with reportedly 4.9 speed received his scholarship offer this afternoon from the University of Mississippi.

"Ole Miss offered Terry Redden this afternoon," stated Whitehaven head coach Rodney Saulsberry. "They have really increased their attention with Terry the past few weeks, and this was pretty much expected."

Coach Saulsberry believes Redden is a bonafide D1 prospect.

"Number one, he plays the game with a mean streak with a defensive player. He tackles to make you feel pain and that is what I like the sheer aggression he plays with is phenomenal. I compare him to Reggie White because of his upper body strength he plays with. He still is young so he still has so much growth. I am amazed that he does not have 40 offers instead of four he has with Ole Miss, Clemson, Memphis, and MSU."

What are Terry's thoughts on Ole Miss.

"I really do not know much about Ole Miss but I plan on getting to know them," added Terry. "I have been down there for the 7-on-7 camps, and the campus is really good. I like their facilities and the field is really good. It is the first SEC offer for me so I am really excited."

Does Terry plan to come back to Ole Miss soon?

"Yes, I do not have a set date yet but I plan to come pretty soon."

What does he want to learn about the Rebels?

"Just the team and how their academics are and the coaching staff."

Who else is getting close to offering?

"Probably MSU. They have given me a verbal offer but it is not in witting yet. Alabama, Oklahoma State, Duke."

Where has Terry visited this spring?

"I have just been to Alabama for their Jr Day."

Redden finished his junior season with 55 tackles, seven sacks, three fumble recoveries and one fumble return for six yards.
