Carvajal Is One To Watch In Florida
Carlos Carvajal, Haleah (FLA), is a top tight end prospect in the state of Florida. Carvajal is now at Hialeah, after playing as a junior for Miami American. "I think I had a pretty good year as a junior," Carvajal stated. "I also started as a sophomore at American, but I'm at Hialeah right now. I played both tight end and defensive end last year, and I'm being recruited at both positions. I don't care which position I play, because I want to help my team, and get prepared to play in the NFL." Carvajal, 6-foot-6, 210-pounds, already holds a few scholarship offers, and is expecting more, now that he is becoming more known. "I have offers from Purdue, Louisville, FIU and USF," he stated. "Louisville is telling me I could play on either side of the ball, while the others are saying tight end. I visited USF and I liked it a lot, and it was a lot nicer than I thought it was going to be." "I'm also hearing from Tennessee, Texas Tech and Florida State and they say they are interested," he said. "I really want offers from Florida State, Cal and USC, because those are my favorite schools right now." He is hoping to attract more offers from continuing to work in the off-season, and attending camps next summer. "I need to add weight and I'm working hard in the weight room," he explained. "I also need to raise my GPA, and I'll be taking my ACT in the next month. If I can add more strength, I think I can be a lot better player next year."
