Stevenson With A Few Off-Season Stops
Just in the last couple of weeks, both Rice and Iowa State coaches threw their names in the hat for Klein (TX) Oak tight end Max Stevenson, who will surely hit double-digit offers before spring practice. And though Stevenson does have somewhat of a top schools listing, a new verbal offer came in recently that has grabbed his attention. "Last week I got the offer from Iowa State. And now, Notre Dame verbally offered so that makes nine offers for me now," Stevenson said. With the new offer in play now, the Irish join the top list with five other programs. "Texas Tech, Notre Dame, UCLA, Texas A&M, California, and LSU have most of my interest," Stevenson said. The 6-foot-6.5, 225-pound Stevenson has other offers as well from Duke, Northwestern, Baylor and Arizona. With his newfound interest and offers, Stevenson has a few places that are on the must list as far as unofficial visits. "I'm going to visit Notre Dame on March 20. I plan on attending Texas Tech's spring game and possibly LSU," Stevenson said. Stevenson finished his junior year with 25 receptions for 450 yards and 2 touchdowns. On the blocking end, Stevenson was key in Klein Oak's rushing attack, which compiled 1,806 yards in 2009. Most of the programs recruiting him project him to be a tight end, but the Aggies prefer him as a receiver, according to Stevenson.
