Castro Valley (Calif.) cornerback Giles Chapman is hoping to turn his busy offseason into his first offer...

Castro Valley (Calif.) cornerback Giles Chapman has had a good offseason, earning All-Combine honors at the U.S. Army Combine in January, then performing admirably at the Vegas 7on7.

Chapman, 5-8, 160, is still in search of his first offer.

"I have a a couple of unofficials that I'm going to take, to Arkansas, Colorado and Rutgers," said Chapman. "I'm interested in the East Coast. My family is from Sarasota, Florida, so that's my connection back east. But I'm definitely trying to get into the Pac-10."

Chapman can play on either side of the ball, and has no preference.

"They're looking at me as a slot and corner, but they've got me down as an athlete," said Chapman. "I'll go in and play whatever the coaches want me to."

Chapman said he's got five schools standing out.

"Georgia Tech, Maryland, Rutgers, Cal and UCLA," said Chapman.

Chapman said he planned to camp at Georgia for a 1-day camp and would likely camp at UCLA and Cal.

Academically, he has a 3.2 GPA and has taken both the SAT and ACT.
