After racking up a number of solid scholarship offers Jace Amaro has ended the recruiting process with a commitment to Texas Tech.

Jace Amaro, a 6-foot-5, 240-pound tight end from San Antonio (Texas) MacArthur High ended his recruiting process with a commitment to Texas Tech on Friday morning.

"I'm going to Tech," Amaro informed Scout.com immediately after making his final decision.

Amaro will carry on a family tradition as his father, Bob Amaro, also played tight end for the Red Raiders in 1980. His sister is also attending the school in Lubbock.

“It’s a great school, and I’ve always watched them play. I feel like I could fit in very well there with my personality and in their system.”

Amaro selected the Red Raiders over offers from schools like Texas A&M, Arizona, Baylor, Missouri, Rice and Duke. Big 12 South rival Texas A&M seems to have finished a close second for his services.

As a junior Amaro collected 429 yards receiving and scored two touchdowns in a shortened season. he is the eighth verbal commitment for the Red Raiders 2011 recruiting class.
