Jorge Sanz, Miami Gulliver Prep, had an excellent junior season, following that up by being selected to the South Florida Express 7on7 team.
Sanz, 5-foot-11, 205-pounds, is a physical linebacker that has the athleticism to play safety at the next level, and is also a top student academically.
"I think I got a lot of attention playing for South Florida Express in the 7on7, and things are picking up," Sanz said. "I ran a 4.58 forty at the Nike camp, and I have great strength, so those are my best strengths."
"I'm working on even getting faster and I want to get better in coverage," he stated. "I could play safety at the next level, or stay at linebacker. I do real well in the classroom and my high school has a great reputation, so that helps me a lot."
A few college recruiters have taken notice, and Sanz is hoping his first offer could be coming shortly.
"Memphis is close to offering and they told me they want to see me in person first," he explained. "They're recruiting me as a linebacker. Bowling Green is also showing interest, and so is Duke. I think a lot of schools are waiting to see me this spring, to see how I've gotten better over the last year."
"Bowling Green is coming down to Florida this spring and they want to see me in person," Sanz said. "Duke wanted me to come to the spring game, but I couldn't make it. They approved my transcript, and they like recruiting my school. I have two former teammates at Duke, in Conner Vernon and Donovan Varner. They are both doing well there."
