New offer, same leader for Bowman
"Notre Dame called my coach and told him they were offering me last week," said Devin Bowman. "I have not talked to them yet, but Coach Mariakis did and they should be sending my offer to me soon." Bowman doesn't know a lot about the Irish yet. He knows they are a program with a lot of tradition, but that is about it. A program he knows more about still holds the top spot on his list. "I am going to look at Notre Dame now, but I really don't have much of a clue about them yet. Georgia is closer to home, I have been there before, and I still have them on top." "I like the coaches there, it is close by, and I have a lot of interest in them. After Georgia would be Alabama, and then Georgia Tech on my list right now." The Crimson Tide have yet to offer, but the 6-foot, 170 pound athlete out of Rossville (GA) Ridgeland has a lot of interest in them because his brother Michael Bowman plays there. He understands the Tide want to see more of him before they pull the trigger. "Alabama wants me to come to their camp in the summer and I understand that," he said. "They do not know where they want me to play, so they want to work me out at their camp and decide about offering me then. I am okay with that and I plan to go there in June to show them what I can do." Tuscaloosa is the only college town he has visited so far in 2010, but that is likely to change this week when Bowman visits Athens. "I am supposed to go over to Georgia to see them practice either Thursday or Friday this week, so I should be visiting them soon. I don't have any other visits planned right now." Bowman has offers from Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, and Notre Dame at this time. Some schools like him as a cornerback and others as a running back.
