The 6' 1", 230-pound inside linebacker out of Inkster (MI) made the trek down to Mississippi with his teammate, Da'Shawn Bell yesterday. To read how his visit went, click below.
"I took my father and
Da'Shawn Bell
with me to Ole Miss yesterday," added
Dwight Trammer
. "Ole Miss sent word that they were interested in me around a month ago, and I got their coaches number. Coach (Tyrone) Nix told me he wanted me to come down there and check it out and see if I liked it."
What was his first impression?
"It is like wild to try and explain. It is just beautiful down there. I just really liked it. The school is beautiful. The campus is beautiful and the facilities are unbelievable. I also really liked their coaches."
What stood out over everything else?
"I think their coaches are really nice. They are real cool. I felt real comfortable around them. I was not nervous around them. I felt like I was just one of the boys. But the thing that stood out to me the most was their campus and just the environment around there. I really liked it."
What is the biggest difference between the northern and southern schools?
"First off the weather (laugh). I do not know. The southern schools are more about speed, just a lot of speed. But if you want to compete against the best, they say you need to come down here to play."
What did the Ole Miss defensive coordinator/linebacker coach tell Trammer during the visit?
"He said he really liked my game tapes from high school. He likes how explosive and physical I am. He thinks I could fit in at the Sam or Mike linebacker slots. We went over how I would fit into his schemes, and we just talked about what would be expected out of me if I were to play under him."
The Ole Miss head coach also had a talk with the Michigan resident.
"He told me that he wanted to make sure that I came back to their camp. He thought I also looked good on film. Coach Nutt said he wanted me to work out in front of him so they could try and get a scholarship my way."
Was the visit about what he was expecting?
"It was way better. I was not expecting it to be anything like that. I heard they had a nice campus, but when you see it in person, it is even better than you can picture in your head. It was most definitely the best school I have seen so far."
And where all has Dwight visited so far?
"I have been to Michigan, Michigan State, Toledo, and Iowa."
Where will he visit next?
"I just spoke with Ohio State, and they are going to look at my highlight tape. On my way here to Mississippi, we stopped by MTSU too."
How was Middle Tennessee State?
"It was nice. It is a little school but the facilities are nice. It is clean."
Who are the main colleges in the picture now?
"Ole Miss, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Central Michigan, and Toledo."
What stands out about Michigan?
"I just have a lot of friends who go to Michigan. The campus is really nice and their facilities are beautiful. I do not know. I have just been up there a lot so it would be like home away from home. It would be a great option if I wanted to stay instate."
How did Trammer's junior season go?
"It went well. I transferred from Oak Park so I had to get use to everything, but I felt like I did a good job. You can always do better, but I felt I did good. I believe I had a little over a 100 tackles and 78 solos."
