The 6' 1", 195-pound free safety out of South Lake (FL) was one of the more productive defenders in the Orlando surrounding area last season.
"I had 97 tackles, 2 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 3 interceptions, and I took back two of them for touchdowns," added
Jordan Montgomery
.
What are Jordan's strengths on the field?
"I always go 100 percent and never take a play off. I encourage the team and keep them positive on the field. My pass rushing is my biggest strength though. I like to get after the passer. That is that I do."
Colleges have taken notice.
"I have gotten offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss, Iowa State, UCF, and Maryland. Oregon is about to offer me when they come see me practice."
Which colleges have caught his eye so far?
"Arkansas is the school that catches my eye the most right now. I like the way they run their program. I plan on taking a visit up there this month."
What else about Arkansas stands out?
"I just like their defensive schemes and how they play on the ball and how hard they work in the weight room. I can not remember the guy who calls me, but they said they ring a bell every time someone breaks a personal record in the weight room, and they all get hyped up."
Who is coming after Jordan the hardest after Arkansas?
"Ole Miss and definitely Oregon. I want to visit those two schools for sure. Ole Miss is kind of closer to home. I have some family in Mississippi so that would be nice. It seems like a place that would be similar to home. I like Oregon because of those uniforms. It is just somewhere I can explore, somewhere new. Their facilities are great too, at least that is what I hear, so that is pretty cool."
Anywhere else Montgomery would like to visit?
"Of course Florida and FSU. Those are two campuses I plan on seeing over the summer. Michigan State, N' Western, and FSU are staying in phone contact with me. Ole Miss and Cinci are too."
