Coach Spotlight: Demarcus Robinson

Wichita Northwest High School head coach Weston Schartz calls Demarcus Robinson "the heart and soul" of his team the last three seasons. Robinson rushed for close to 5,000 yards for the Grizzlies and was showered with accolades and scholarship offers for his accomplishments. He comes to K-State as the top or certainly one of the top players in their signing class of 2010.

"When Demarcus came to us as a freshman, he was highly regarded for what he did at the middle school level," said Schartz. "In many cases those guys don't pan out. That wouldn't be the case with Demarcus. We probably could have played him as a freshman, but at his mother's request, we didn't put him on varsity that year."
