A Pac-10 schools has entered into Preston Dewey's recruiting. What are his thoughts on that and what…
Dewey Hearing from Several
Austin (Texas) Westlake High quarterback Preston Dewey has been hearing from multiple schools. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound quarterback has yet to receive his first scholarship offer, but several big-time schools are currently interested. The Westlake High standout is currently being recruited by SMU, UCLA, Texas A&M, TCU, LSU, Rice and Vanderbilt. Although all of these schools have been in contact, one of them has been showing Dewey the most interest. "I have been hearing a lot from SMU. They are probably recruiting me the hardest right now," said Dewey. Throughout the past several months, the Westlake High quarterback has been able to familiarize himself with SMU, and the Mustangs have made a solid impression. "Coach Jones is a good coach. The program is headed in the right direction. He (Jones) is a quarterback guru and I would definitely want to play for him." Despite being high on the Mustangs, Dewey is also interested in UCLA, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Rice. Things could change in the Westlake High quarterback's recruitment, if a certain school were to offer. "My dad played football at Texas A&M, if they were to offer me, they would be my number one school." Dewey previously visited LSU for their spring game, and was present at SMU for their junior day. It's no shocker that so many schools have been showing interest in the Westlake signal caller. He possesses many of the intangibles that are necessary to succeed at the collegiate level. "I may not have the strongest arm, but I pride myself on being accurate. I have good footwork, and I am a good leader and competitor." Dewey plans to participate in camps at SMU, Texas A&M, Rice and Vanderbilt this summer.
