ScoutTV presents clips of the Las Vegas (Nev.) Faith Lutheran receiver Don Pearson from his junior…
Vegas WR Making A Splash
Las Vegas (Nev.) Faith Lutheran isn't known as a traditional football power, but the Crusaders have a bigtime prospect in the 2011 class in receiver Don Pearson. The 6-3, 215-pound Pearson already has one Pac-10 offer and several schools have planned to come by the school, or have already been by. "Recruiting has been going pretty good," said Pearson. "I have an offer from Stanford already. Oregon State and Northern Arizona have come by. And I'm hearing pretty regularly from Boise State, San Diego State, UNLV, TCU and UCLA, and they all said they would be coming by." Pearson said that Colorado has been picking things up with him of late, and he's planning on being in Boulder, among other places this summer. "I know for sure I'm going to the Stanford camp in June and I'm planning on Oregon State and Colorado and maybe UCLA," said Pearson. "I took an unofficial visit to UCLA last summer and went to their camp too." Pearson went to the TCU Nike Camp, and is intrigued by the Horned Frogs, and leaving Las Vegas altogether. "Geographically, it doesn't matter where I go," said Pearson. "UNLV would be cool, but I'm good leaving the area." Pearson said his dream school was Oregon, but that Stanford stands as his current number one. A versatile athlete, Pearson played only three games at receiver last fall for Faith Lutheran, moving to quarterback when their starter went down with an injury. "Some schools like me as an outside linebacker or safety, but my number one choice would be receiver," said Pearson. Pearson said he'd like to take all five visits and make a later decision. "I don't want to commit until after my football season," said Pearson. In only three games at receiver, Pearson had 42 catches for 616 yards and scored six touchdowns. Academically, he has a 3.6 and took the SAT earlier this month.
