Landisch Looking for More
Summer is a vital time for high school prospects looking for offers, and Hartland Arrowhead linebacker Derek Landisch is one such player. The 6'0, 215-lb Landisch has interest from a host of schools, but must prove himself this summer at the camp circuit to add to an offer list that currently has one school on it. "I have an offer from Illinois State. That came on April 28th," he reported. He says the schools recruiting him the hardest, other than ISU, are Wisconsin, Northwestern, Minnesota, Army, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan and Bowling Green. He says Michigan State was also in the school recently. He also has visited a couple of Big Ten programs. "I went to spring practice at Wisconsin and I went to Minnesota's spring game." The nearby Badgers are one school who reiterated to Landisch that summer camp was a key part of his recruitment. "It went pretty good," he said of the visit to Madison. "It was good to see the guys working hard during the spring. I talked to Coach Doering after practice, and Coach Bostad came over. They were just making sure I was going to camp." As for his Minnesota trip, Landisch said, "I talked to the linebackers coach there. He said he was going to review my game film afterwards. He came over and talked to me and Drew Meier for about 45 minutes." With only a few more weeks until June, Landisch has his camp schedule nearly set. "The only ones I'm signed up for are Wisconsin and Northwestern. I think I'm probably going to the Northern Illinois camp too. They've shown good interest in me."
