David Simon adds new offer
"This is our last week of practice," said David Simon. "We got rained out today. We have had three weeks of practice with them being on different days. It's going really well. It's been hot. We have been getting after it and improving, but it's been really hot." "I think my coach said we had 35 different D-I schools come through. They were from all over the Southeast. There were some from different parts of the country. I know Maryland, South Florida, Duke, Vanderbilt, coach Pendry from Alabama and coach Grimes from Auburn have all been out there." Simon plans to hit several camps this summer with hopes of collecting additional offers. "I have created an itinerary," he said. "I going to go to some schools I think I can get a scholarship from. Most of the camps are in June. I am going to Alabama, Auburn and Duke. "I am going to stop by Maryland. I plan on going out to Stanford, Florida State, South Florida, Mississippi State, maybe Ole Miss and there are some other ones. Not completely sure yet." The south Alabama native has collected an offer from his first Big East school. "South Florida offered me," said Simon. "They confirmed the offer to me in the mail. I have been getting handwritten letters from them. Coach Smith came by and told me he really liked me. "I know they have Skip Holtz out there. I know he did a good job at ECU. South Florida has tons of talent and can win. I know the coaches will get the process going. It's a BCS school. They can compete in major bowls or compete in national championship."
