La Mirada (Calif.) offensive lineman Bryan Peters, landed his seventh offer, and first from the Big 12.

Kansas threw their name in the ring on Wednesday, joining Florida State, New Mexico, Colorado State and Wyoming and WAC rivals Nevada and Hawaii in offering Peters, who started on the CIF-SS Champion Matadores' offensive line in 2009.

"It's my first Big 12 offer so it's a very exciting time," said Peters. "Coach Chuck Long came by the school yesterday and watched me work out. Kansas is a school that I'm really considering. I have family in the Midwest, they have a great coaching staff and Coach (Turner) Gill is a class act."

South Carolina, Alabama, Baylor, Duke, North Carolina and UCLA are other schools that have been showing interest in Peters.
