Coffin Ready For Summer

Coffin Ready For Summer

Scout.com contacted 2011 prospect David Coffin from South River High School in Edgewater, MD. The up and coming lineman plans on doing some travelling this summer in search of his first offer.

David Coffin is has the potential and ability to play on both sides of the ball. Colleges are split with some recruiting him as a defensive tackle while others see him more as an offensive guard. Either way Coffin knows this is the summer to impress college coaches.

"I have been working out and running each day," said Coffin. "I want to be able to perform my best this summer when I go to the camps. I have good size and strength and move pretty well so hopefully the coaches will see that too."

Coffin stands 6'2" and weighs 280 pounds. He benches 285 pounds and moves well for a big guy clocking a 5.13 forty. Coaches have started to take notice of his potential.

"I have been hearing a lot from Army, Bucknell, Towson, Delaware and Villanova. I hope to hear more form some FBS schools soon. I will be going to a few camps this summer including Maryland, Towson and Villanova. I will probably go to a few more but nothing is set yet."

Coffin is looking for the education as his main priority in college.

"One of the benefits of playing college football is all the academic support and guidance you receive. They really focus on your success in the classroom and that is most important. My choice will have to be solid academically in my major that I choose. The football stuff will take care of itself."

Coffin reports a 3.7 GPA.
