Jenkins County is a small school in Georgia, but it has a couple of 2012 prospects to watch this…
Interest picking up in Jenkins County trio
"Things have really started to pick up for our guys," said Jenkins County Head Coach Chuck Conley. "After they went to the MVP Camp at Georgia Tech, Florida called asking about a couple of them and coaches have been showing up the last three weeks checking on them as well." Conley is referring to his talented trio of sophomores James Deloach, Lavontay Evans, and Jonathan Taylor. Deloach is a 6-foot-2, 233 pound defensive end, Evans is a 6-foot-3.5, 190 pound athlete, and Taylor is a 6-foot-4, 307 pound defensive tackle. All are starting to draw attention, but Taylor is the one everyone is asking about. "Coach [Warren] Belin from Georgia, Coach [Mike] Sewak, and Coach [Kirby] Smart have come through in the last couple of weeks to check on these guys and all of them really like Jonathan." "Jonathan is so athletic and he has great size for a sophomore defensive lineman. All the schools love him and they are asking about our other guys too." No offers have been given out yet by any school to any of Coach Conley's prospects, but Scout feels it is only a matter of time. It may not happen this spring and it may not even happen this summer as they attend camps, but Taylor will likely have some offers on the table by the middle of his junior year. All three are talented and all three will sign scholarships in February 2012, so stay tuned to Scout for the latest on this big talent in a small city.
