Midwest Update: New Offers Abound
Illini Offers The University of Illinois was busy over the last few days, offering a few of the Midwest's best. The first one is Detroit Country Day (Mich.) wide receiver Kenny Knight. The 6'4, 185-lb Knight now has eight offers, and reported that Stanford, Kentucky, Northwestern, and Iowa are close to offering as well. They also offered Minnetonka (Minn.) safety James Farrow. The 6'0, 175-lb Farrow is a soft verbal to Minnesota, who also added an offer from Hawaii this week. The last Illini offer is three-star cornerback Valdez Showers, from Madison Heights Madison (Mich.). Showers has other offers from Michigan State, Wisconsin, Michigan, Northwestern, Cincinnati, Iowa, and others. He also reports that Florida has been recruiting him harder of late. Other New Offers Macomb Dakota (Mich.) guard Bernard Taylor added an offer from Western Michigan. Hayward (Wisc.) defensive end Ben Rasmussen was offered by Illinois State. That is the 6'4, 230-lber's first offer. Desmond Morgan, a 6'1, 225-lb linebacker from Holland (Mich.) West Ottawa added an offer from Akron on Thursday. He also has an offer from Buffalo. Another Madison Heights Madison (Mich.) prospect was offered, as linebacker Devonte Snyder, a physical 6'2, 215-lb kid, was offered by Howard and Akron this week. A pair of standouts from Detroit Cass Tech picked up their first offers this week as Howard offered both quarterback Keith Moore, and speedy running back/slot receiver Kishon Wilcher.
