The 6' 1", Magnolia receiver took his talents over to the state of Oklahoma this past weekend and left quite an impression. To learn more, read below.
"It went real good," added
Tobias Singleton
while leaving the camp to head back to Mississippi. "I ran a 4.35 forty and a 4.42 forty. I had a 9.6 broad jump. We did not do the vertical."
While Tobias was in Oklahoma strutting his stuff, Ole Miss held its Elite Camp which had most of his good buddies in attendance.
"I heard
Nickolas Brassell
ran a 4.48. You tell him his best time is worst than me worst time (laugh). I am going to be getting Snoop (Nickolas) real good about that one (laugh). I want lie. I was kind of antsy because I wanted to compete against all of my boys back home, but it was good exposure for me to come out here and compete against some new guys. I will be at Ole Miss this weekend. Hopefully Snoop,
Donte Moncrief
, and all of them will be back over there this weekend."
What did Tobias learn about himself by competing against the Mid-West players?
"To tell you the truth, I did not know I was that fast, and I learned some new routes that I am going to bring back to Mississippi."
What did he learn about the Sooners?
"Their coaches are real cool. They are good people, and it is a good community. It is pretty nice up there."
What impressed him the most about Oklahoma?
"I couldn't tell you, but I guess I would have to say seeing all of those Big 12 championships they have won."
Was there a difference in the caliber of athletes between the Deep-South and Miid-West players?
"They just are not as physical as us back in Mississippi but they have better techniques. We are much more physical in Mississippi but their techniques are better. The biggest difference is the speed. They can't stay with us up there. It's a lot faster back home."
What did the Oklahoma staff say to Tobias before he came back home?
"They said they were not going to push me. They told me that my offer was good until signing day. They told me that they wanted me to come on my own. They were not going to push me to commit or anything."
Where does Singleton go next?
"I will be up in Oxford a couple of days this week on like Friday and Saturday, and then I am going to Florida State on June 16th, and I might be going to Alabama in July. I do not know about that one yet."
