Alonzo Harris busy camping
"I got back from Auburn yesterday," said Alonzo Harris. "I have been to Alabama, Clemson and Auburn so far. I am going to Tennessee on Wednesday. "My most recent offer is from Mississippi State. They offered a couple of weeks ago. I spoke to coach Hud [Hudspeth] on the phone. I think it's a good offer. I will definitely visit them." Harris talked more about the camp experience at Auburn. "The camp at Auburn was good," he said. "It was well organzied. They separated the best players out there. We did one-on-ones and seven-on-seven. We were pretty much out there getting evaluated. "I spoke to coach Luper, coach Thigpen, coach Trooper Taylor and coach Chizik. They were basically telling me about my offer. They said they are going to offer me, but are still evaluating before they make it official. "I feel like I did pretty good out there. I worked out at running back. I like Auburn. They use four backs in a game. I like how their offense is up-tempo." Harris spent the previous week camping at Alabama. "The hardest working camp was Alabama," Harris said. "The other ones were tough, but we stayed moving the whole time at Alabama. Bama was up-tempo in all the work-outs. You can see why they are the national champs. We were working non-stop. It's only about a quarter of what they do in their practices. "I talked to coach Saban and coach Williams while I was there. They were basically telling me how I did out there. They said I did a good job. They saw my evaluation card and everything looked really good." Harris likes the way the Tide utilizes their backfield. "They run the ball a lot with Trent Richardson and Mark Ingram," he said. "They are basically neck-and-neck with each other out there." Harris, along with several teammates, made the trip to Clemson to work-out with the their coaching staff. "I did a two day camp with them," he said. "The camp was pretty tough from morning to afternoon. We had three sessions a day. Coach Powell is a pretty cool coach. "He talked about the running backs and how he lets the players decide who is going to start the next game. They have a players' meeting and stuff. "Overall everything went really well up there. I think Clemson is cool. They have a pretty nice campus. The city is pretty nice up there. They said they are going to look at my film and will probably offer me."
