Dawson Wells profile
"I went to Southern Miss' camp and I had like the fastest 40 time in for the linebackers," said Dawson. "I ran 4.53. I am going to Ole Miss July 17th.
"I am thinking about going to camp at Mississippi State, but I need to look that up. I am not sure about that yet."
While Mississippi's three Division one programs have all shown some interest, a school from a state away is very serious about the gulf coast product.
"I have been offered by Louisiana Lafayette," said Dawson. "They are talking about me playing outside linebacker. My dad and I are planning a trip there soon, but I am not sure when that is going to be. We may go over there on the way back down from Ole Miss."
The Cajuns may soon have some competition in the race for Wells' signing day signature.
"Memphis is showing me some interest," said Dawson. "They wanted me to come up there on the 1st and 2nd for camp, but I couldn't make it. They are supposed to get back with me after they evaluate my tape."
Wells is in no hurry to make a decision. He does have a good idea about what he is looking for in a college program.
"I am looking for playing time and the place that feels like home," said Dawson. "The coaches are going to be real important too."
