Zeller Weighing Options
Red Lion (Pa.) offensive tackle prospect Andrew Zeller is currently holding offers from Rutgers, Duke, Maryland and Oregon. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound lineman broke down his offers and recent trips for us. Duke was the first school to offer Zeller a scholarship. "The offer meant a lot to me," Zeller said. "After last season, my coach told me I would be a D-I prospect and getting that offer proved it to me. It was another step in a big process for me." Zeller and his family moved from Manchester (Md.) about five years ago to York (Pa.), so of course it was a happy day when the Terrapins offered. "I am very interested in Maryland," Zeller stated. "I grew up watching Maryland. Former North Carroll All-ACC wide receiver Steve Suter went to the same high school I would have went to. I grew up as a fan of Maryland football." UConn:"The stadium is far away from the campus, but the stadium was very nice. It had a nice feel to it." N.C. State: "They have very nice facilities. Their campus is really spread out." North Carolina: "That was a very nice trip. The whole campus was beautiful. I really liked it a lot there." Tennessee: "I went to camp there. I really liked it a lot. They said they are not offering anyone else right now. They want to evaluate people and then decide what they will do." Vanderbilt: "They have a beautiful campus. Vandy is a very good academic school." Zeller carries a 3.2 GPA and scored 1080 on his SAT, so obviously he takes his academics seriously. "Academics are very important to me," Zeller explained. "It will be a factor in my decision, but not the main factor. I am just going with the flow right now." As a junior, Zeller was named 1st Team All-YAIAA as an offensive tackle. He is also hearing from Michigan, Michigan State, Temple, Miami and South Florida.
