It was in early May 2010 when Sugar Land (TX) Dulles athlete Zoey Williams pulled in that first offer from Wyoming. Since then, things have really taken off. Earlier today Scout.com had been informed that Williams was up to six total offers.
"The offers just came out of nowhere. I got offered by UTEP, Memphis and UNLV," Williams said. "I also have offers from Tulsa, Wyoming and Louisiana Tech. There are a few other schools I am waiting on too."
Aside from the six mentioned above, the 5-foot-10, 190-pound Williams said that programs like Arkansas, Houston and Kansas are schools that are on his radar and he is hoping for good news from them as well. This off season, and summer so far, Williams has made his way to a number of camps and combines.
"I went to the camps at UTEP and Houston and I did well at both," Williams said.
One of the key factors in his recruitment is that Williams is waiting on his SAT scores to come in. Once that happens, he feels that a new group of schools may begin recruiting him. Or, the schools that have showed interest, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and New Mexico may start to get more serious.
Williams does hold six offers at the moment and is steadily seeking more. But even with that said, he is not looking to drag this process out for the long haul.
"The recruiting process is going great for me," Williams said. "I'm hoping to get a few more offers because I want to commit by the end of this summer."
Last season, Williams recorded 69 tackles and eight pass break ups.
