Where has the time gone? It's been 15 years since the Big Kahuna Passing Challenge first took place, and in 2010 it's going as strong as ever. Even with the new entrance requirements for Americans, there were still some Washington-based high school teams that took part in last weekend's Big Kahuna Passing Challenge, held at New Westminster Secondary School.
The Kelowna Owls, heartbreak losers to three-time champs Ferris High School from Spokane, Wash. took the 2010 crown in a close 45-36 win over Ballenas.
The MVP for the tournament was Owls QB/FS
Taylor Loffler
, who was also named to the 2009 All-Tournament team.
Cedar Park Christian of Bothell, Wash. finished third in the event. Host New Westminster finished in sixth place.
Here is the All-Tournament Team:
MVP: Taylor Loffler, QB/FS, Kelowna
BJ Bouchard, QB/FS, Ballenas
Brandon Braich, WR/FS, New Westminster
Sam Davies, WR/DB, Kelowna
Zack Dinsmore, WR/FS, Cedar Park
Tanner Pierce, QB/FS, Mission
