Buckley Drawing Suitors

One of the biggest sleepers in the Magnolia State of Mississippi is Water Valley hard hitter Eric Buckley. Buckley has begun to make a name for himself on the camp and combine circuit. A handful of schools took advantage of their one phone call for the spring to let the talented defender know of their interest.

"I have been to Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Miss. Arkansas State and the combine in Tupelo," said Buckley. "I am thinking about some other things for later this summer."

Eric reports that he is unsure of his current offer list, but that he believes five schools are pretty serious about him.

"State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss and Arkansas State are all showing me interest," said Buckley. "All of the schools called me and Cornell called me too. I think I am going up there on July 24th.

"Some of them are talking about safety or outside linebacker. I would like to play safety, but linebacker is good too. I could play either one."

Eric reports that he is not looking for a quick decision and he wants to attend a school that will help him advance to new levels athletically and academically.

"I am looking for a program that gets players to the NFL and I want to get a good education," said Buckley. "I am thinking about majoring in business when I get to college."
