San Jose (Calif.) Bellarmine Prep outside linebacker Rufus Wolokolie (6-1, 210) was a big part of the Bells’ CIF-CCS title season last year and why they made it to the CIF State D-I title game.
Now Wolokolie is looking to parlay that into his first offer.
“I haven’t gotten that much love so I go out to a lot of the camps and try to make a statement,” said Wolokolie. “A lot of people are talking with me right now.”
Oregon, Wyoming, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal and Cal Poly are some of those schools.
“I like Oregon a lot, and I talk to Coach Don Pellum,” said Wolokolie. “I’m good friends with Michael Clay (a former teammate at Bellarmine and a current Duck linebacker). And Wyoming, I talked to Austyn (Carta-Samuels, another former Bellarmine teammate who plays for the Cowboys), and he said they took a look at my film.”
Wolokolie can play anywhere in the back seven in college.
“I play outside backer, but I kind of want to play strong safety or a rover position,” said Wolokolie.
Wolokolie said his top schools were Oregon, California, Arizona, Arizona State and Cal Poly.
Academically, he’s fully qualified.
As a junior, Wolokolie had 40 tackles, two sacks, two fumble recoveries, two picks and a pass breakup.
