Shaun Ward committed to Maryland back in the spring, but he has backed off of that commitment. He is ready to open things back up.

"I feel I jumped the gun too early," Shaun Ward told Scout about his decision to de-commit from Maryland on Monday.

He committed to the Terps during an unofficial visit back in the spring and his commitment surprised many. It was a quick decision, so he is ready to take a step back and go through the process a little slower.

When asked about who was in the mix now, Ward said, "everybody."

The 6-foot-2, 235 pound linebacker went on to mention Texas A&M, South Florida, UCF, Wake Forest, and West Virginia as schools he was currently interested in.
