Clark Is Ticking
Venice (Calif.) receiver Larry Clark (6-3, 200) is sitting on a pair of offers but he's hopeful that more will make their way to him. "Idaho and San Diego State have offered me," said Clark. "UCLA likes me, so does Washington and Syracuse does too. I'd go to Syracuse to play football, even though I'm from California." Clark was one of the standouts at UCLA's 7on7 Tournament earlier this spring and he and junior receiver Gabriel Marks will form one of the best receiver tandems in the City Section this fall. "Most schools like me as a receiver, but some are looking at me as a tight end," said Clark. "Idaho offered me as a tight end in fact. I just want the ball in my hands." Clark said his top schools were Idaho, San Diego State, UCLA and Washington. "Those are my top schools, but I don't have a favorite school," said Clark. "But if UCLA offered me, I'd probably commit. My family would like me close to home, and I know (former Venice receiver and current UCLA player) Jerry Johnson real well." Academically, Clark said he's in fine shape and will be a full qualifier. Aside from the UCLA 7on7, he's camped at San Diego State and will be at the B2G Elite Program next week. As a 2009 junior, he had 37 receptions for 703 yards and nine touchdowns.
